IACAT Early Career Researcher Award

The IACAT Early Career Researcher Award is a prestigious award intended for young scholars with an interest in computerized adaptive testing (CAT) and who have obtained at least a Master’s degree or are in an advanced stage towards completing it. The main aim of the award is to encourage research in CAT. The recipient will receive a medal from the sponsor, EPEC Pty Ltd, (www.epecat.com) as well as a grant of $1000 to $2000 from IACAT.
Dr Chun Wang from the University of Minnesota was the 2014 recipient of the award.
To nominate a candidate, submit the following to Prof John Barnard (John@EPECat.com) before 31 May 2015:
- An abstract of up to 500 words on a topic in the field of CAT intended to be submitted for the invited address at the conference.
- A recommendation letter from the nominator and a detailed curriculum vitae of the nominee with special reference to CAT.
YOUNG RESEARCHER/STUDENT GRANTS

IACAT has made available funding for up to five young researcher/student travel grants of $500 to $1000 per person.
To apply, students should submit the following to Prof John Barnard (John@EPECat.com) before 31 May 2015:
- An abstract of up to 500 words on a topic in the field of CAT.
- The name and e-mail address of your advisor.
All proposals will be reviewed blindly and rated. One or more of the grants may be awarded to applicants for the Early Career Researcher Award.
All recipients will be notified by 30 June 2015 and need to confirm acceptance by 15 July 2015. All recipients will be expected to attend the 2015 IACAT conference in Cambridge.
The recipient of the Award will be invited to present a paper during a plenary session and the recipients of the grants will be invited to present their papers during a dedicated young researcher/student parallel session at the conference.
