Call for Proposals: IACAT 2026
Submit proposals for your methodological research, or applications of CAT and other modern psychometrics!
There are three types of sessions: Individual Presentations, Posters, and Symposia Presentations. Guidelines on how to create your proposal are below. The proposal window is opens March 1 to June 30, and has rolling admissions. Additionally, you will need to assign your proposal to one of the following conference tracks, which will be used to group similar presentations together in the final program.
Conference Tracks
- Applications of CAT: Education and language
- Applications of CAT: Certification and workforce
- Applications of CAT: Personality and non-cognitive
- Applications of CAT: Medicine and patient-reported outcomes
- Item generation, item banking, and form assembly
- Statistical methodology: Item selection, calibration, termination criteria, etc.
- IRT models (including multidimensional)
- Cognitive diagnostic models
- Multistage testing (MST)
- Other AI topics (e.g., automated essay scoring)
- Other (adaptive learning, item response theory, equating/scaling)
Individual Presentations
This is a traditional lecture-style presentation that will be 20-30 minutes as part of a block of presentations.
Proposals for Individual Presentations must include the following components :
- Title
- Author(s) name(s)
- Abstract (500 words or less)
- Which IACAT 2026 topic the presentation belongs to
- At least three keywords
Symposia Presentations
These sessions are a group of 3-4 related presentations, submitted together as a block. A limited number of symposia (coordinated sessions) will be accepted. Please note that symposium organizers as well as all authors of the individidual presentations within the symposium have to submit a proposal via the abstract submission system. If the symposium includes a discussant (recommended), the presentation of the discussant has to be submitted as an individual presentation within the symposium by the symposium organizer.
Proposals for Symposia Presentations must include the following components :
- Title
- Organizer(s) name(s)
- Abstract (500 words or less)
- Which IACAT 2026 topic the symposium belongs to
- At least three keywords
Proposals for Paper Presentation as Part of a Symposium must include the following components:
- Title
- Which symposium the presentation belongs to (in parentheses behind the title)
- Author(s) name(s)
- Abstract (500 words or less)
- Which IACAT 2026 topic the presentation belongs to
- At least three keywords
Posters
A poster session is provided for graduate students to present their research. This includes work still in progress for a Master’s or PhD thesis.
Proposals for Posters must include the following components :
- Title
- Author(s) name(s)
- Abstract (500 words or less)
- Which IACAT 2026 topic the presentation belongs to
- At least three keywords
