Call for Proposals: IACAT 2026

There are three types of sessions: Individual Presentations, Posters, and Coordinated/Symposia Presentations.
Individual Presentations

These sessions can be a single presenter or group of presenters, discussing the results of a research study or actual assessment. This is a traditional lecture-style presentation that will be 20-30 minutes as part of a block of presentations.

Proposals for standard sessions must include the following components :

  1. Proposal title
  2. Author(s) name(s)
  3. Abstract (500 words or less)
  4. Which IACAT 2024 strand the presentation belongs to
  5. At least three keywords
Coordinated/Symposia Presentations

These sessions are a group of 3-4 related presentations, submitted together as a block, or alternatively can be a symposium with multiple speakers on one topic.  These will be approximately 60 minutes in length. We encourage formats such as panel discussions or debates.

Posters

A poster session is provided for graduate students to present their research. This includes work in progress for a Master’s or PhD thesis.

Submission Guidelines

Proposals must include the following information. More information will be provided on the submission process in February.

  1. Proposal title
  2. Author(s) name(s)
  3. Abstract (500 words or less)
  4. Which IACAT strand the presentation belongs to
  5. At least three keywords

Here is a list of recommended topics:

  1. Applications of CAT: Education and Language
  2. Applications of CAT: Certification and Workforce
  3. Applications of CAT in personality and attitude measurement, and in patient-reported outcomes
  4. Item generation, item banking, and form assembly
  5. Item selection and termination criteria
  6. IRT models (including multidimensional)
  7. Cognitive diagnostic models
  8. Multistage testing (MST)
  9. Other AI topics (e.g., automated essay scoring)
  10. Adaptive learning
